Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji has covered the efforts of ShivagangaKalanjiaJeevidam 10K Honeybee Producer Company, Tumakuru FPO in the 128^thepisode of Mann Ki Baat, telecast on 30th Nov, 2025. He appreciated their activities and mentioned that this FPO motivated many members to join.

ICAR-KrishiVigyan Kendra, Hirehalli, Tumakuru in Karnataka, supportShivagangaKalanjiaJeevidam 10K Honeybee Producer Company, Tumakuru.  This FPO was established on 22^nd June 2022 at Gulur, Tumakuru district. This is entirely a women participating FPO implemented by TRIFED (Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India) under the administrative control of Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Govt. of India, supported Jeevitham Ltd, DHAN Foundation NGO. At present there are 1,500 shareholders in the FPO, all are women.

In the year 2023, about 220 Honey Bee boxes were provided to them by KVK, under SCSP, TSP schemes. Each member was given two boxes and periodical support was provided by the KVK staff. This FPO is excelling in scientific bee keeping and sale of honey. They created a brand viz., ShivagangaKalanjiaJeevidam and sell at the rate of Rs. 400 per kg.

Since 2023, they produced more than 3 quintals of honey and marketed the same, apart from their own consumption. Bee keeping helped them in increasing their crop yield (Finger Millet, Coconut, Arecanut, Fruits, Vegetables and Flowers) to the tune of 15-20%. The additional income that the women get helped them in improving their livelihoods. The honey they consume helped in their health development and that of their children. Honorable Prime Minister appreciated their activities and mentioned that this FPO motivated many members to join.

Sri Suresh Gowda ji, Honorable MLA, Tumakuru Rural Constituency, visited the FPO on 2^nd Dec, 2025 and appreciated their efforts for being mentioned in the PM’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’ Programme. He sanctioned Rs.10 lakhs from his fund for their business development.
